Scuba diving is a fabulous hobby. It is fun, relaxing and very educational.  Scuba diving offers people the opportunity to see what life is like below the water in lakes, and oceans. Scuba is an acronym that stands for self contained underwater breathing apparatus .

If you are considering scuba diving in Australia, my advise to you as a Scuba Diving Instructor is to try scuba diving in Sydney. For sure the Australian capital is one of the best hidden secrets  of the scuba diving community from down under.

Taveuni Fiji Travel for Ocean and Nature Adveturers Feb 15

Taveuni, also known as ‘The Garden Island,’ is an abundance of tropical plants and flowers, with world class dive sites right on the doorstep. With stunning natural beauty, both under and above the sea, makes it a haven for divers, hikers and nature lovers alike.

Taveuni is easily accessible and rather compact and yet without a particular area singled out as the main tourist destination, it is far from feeling overrun. The locals and residents on the island refer to Taveuni as ‘the real Fiji.’

At 42 km in length and approximately 10km wide, Taveuni is the third largest island in the Fiji group. The island is home to 28 extinct volcanoes and this is evident from the black sand beaches and lava rock coastlines. If you want to snorkel or swin in white sandy beaches, you do so in Matei beach. The offshore islands around Taveuni host stunning white sandy beaches and the southern west of Taveuni has deep water close to shore. The eastern side of the island has dramatic waterfalls and the southern coastlines have dramatic caves and blowholes, all this including some of the most amazing dive sites in the world, making this the perfect diving destination in the world. If you are a diver, scuba diving in Fiji is the right decision for you.

The flights between Taveuni and the mainland, 90 minutes from Nadi or 50 minutes from Suva, are stunning giving you a chance to experience the gemstone coloured reefs from above. An overnight Ferry service is available for travel to Taveuni from Suva 3 times weekly. The drive from Suva to Taveuni takes 16 hours so you might want to get a private cabin along the way.

Taveuni’s Matei airport is on the northern tip of the island and the main road, a combination of tar-sealed and regularly graded dirt roads, hugs its scenic coast and runs from the National Heritage Park in the east to Paradise Taveuni Resort and remote villages in the south.

Getting around Taveuni is easy using public transport such as taxis and the local buses are an adventure. Most resorts provide airport transfers in private air-conditioned vehicles and tours to the popular areas such as Bouma Waterfalls and Lavena to enjoy the coastal walk, the Inernational Dateline, Wairiki Catholic Mission, Des Voeux Peak and the Waitavala Water Slide.

There is a selection of places to stay in Taveuni to suit all budgets, providing you different options for Taveuni Accommodation deals. Paradise Taveuni is a mid-priced boutique Resort located in southern Taveuni. Catering to all travelers, the resort has a strong emphasis on the Fijian culture. Guests stay in traditional Fijian Bures (with all the modern fittings on the inside) lacking in phones, TV and clocks to ensure you are truly relaxed. The menu is a mixture of local and international produce with Fiji Night offering an authentic Lovo followed by a Meke performance (dancing) and Kava ceremony with the staff and local villagers. Diving is on offer at the Resort as well as a multitude of adventures and activities from horse riding, guided tours, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming in the new horizon edge swimming pool, cultural walks and hiking tours as well as a day spa to relax and rejuvenate. If you are looking for a real Fijian experience with luxurious touches at an affordable price, consider Paradise Taveuni for your next secluded and remote getaway.

Scuba Diving around the World Sep 07

Scuba diving is the use of independent breathing equipment to stay under the water for long periods of time. This equipment is used both for recreational and professional diving. Scuba diving is not just a fun way of staying fit, but provides sights and experiences which are simply unique. Perhaps the more widespread availability of equipment and certified instructors would induce more people to explore underwater, plus thanks to the internet you can get cheap scuba gear easily.

Scuba diving is not only a popular activity all over the world, but an experience that will be etched in your heart forever. Scuba diving is fun, and we like to see turtles, sharks, coral, fish, invertebrates, nudibranchs, crabs, mollusks, molluscs, eels, sting rays, manta rays, and shrimp. Along with this, we take video and photographs of reefs, reef, fishes, fish, inverts, invertebrates, lobsters, octopus, octopuses, octopi, and coral. SCUBA diving is great fun and can open the way for you to discover the diversity of the amazing underwater world. Scuba diving is a sport that is unparalleled. It’s a great work out, but generally considered a lazy man’s sport (you’re floating 98% of the time).

Scuba diving is greatly different from other sports and recreations in this necessity. In other sports, there is little necessity of belonging to or registering with a certain organization. Scuba diving is popular in Cancun, though it’s not as spectacular as in Cozumel. Look for a scuba company that will give you lots of personal attention: smaller companies are often better at this than larger ones. Scuba Diving is a relaxing, action-packed and exciting sport that can be enjoyed by everybody. Evidence shows that people have been diving for thousands of years, either to hunt for food, seek out treasure, in the art of war or to simply observe the world beneath the waves.

Scuba diving is practiced as a recreational sport as well as a means of conducting military and scientific research.  Scuba diving is clearly one of the most exciting hobbies to take. This activity takes you to depths, literally and figuratively. SCUBA diving is a fantastic way of learning about the seas on which we, the human race, rely to support the world’s eco-system. Australia is very fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most diverse marine biological eco-systems in the world. Scuba diving is safe and very inexpensive compared to other excursions offered at resorts. Scuba Diving is one of the most popular water sport activity in the country – a diver’s paradise, a marine jewel rich in sealife and astonishing underwater scenery. Some of my favorite destinations is Scuba Diving in Australia and Scuba Diving in Thailand.

Cabilao Island is one of the best dive place in the Philippines and it is the perfect dive spot for beginners and experienced divers. Scuba diving is an equipment intensive sport. If we are to become good at it, we must be using the same equipment each time we do it.

So my advice is you are thinking about in learning or not about the amazing sport of scuba diving is: go for it… for sure you will love it and you will become an avid scuba diver.
